Where do I start my presentation?

Preparing a presentation: Where do I start?

Start with what you know well. This is your centre. Knowledge, energy and spirit. Your expertise, your experiences and your personal stories. Your strengths.

That’s where your personal power resides.

In my ebook, The Magic in Your Hand, I mentioned that the palm of a hand as a metaphor of where your knowledge and experience reside.

From your centre, you then decide what you want to share with your audience. Start with 3 topics. Three is magical; my personal favourite. The 3 topics should support 1 overarching or central theme of your presentation.

This presentation structure is simple yet has inherent magic in it. Close a presentation with a re-cap of the lessons from each topic.

That’s it really.

Never stray away from your own personal power. If you feel anxious, not confident and unsure… most likely you are straying away from your own power.

Stay true to yourself. Reveal YOU to your audience – an essential ingredient in an impactful presentation. And don’t forget to have fun! 🙂
